Submissions to The Alcott Youth Magazine are strongly encouraged. Our contributors are primarily young women from ages thirteen to twenty-two, as we feel it is important to provide a platform for their unique and often unheard voices. However, we accept submissions from everyone who would like to be featured in our publication. We are open to publishing articles, essays, short stories, illustrations, cartoons, photographs, or any other works. If you have a unique idea for The Alcott Youth Magazine, please contact us before submission.
All submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not hear from us within one month, your work has unfortunately not been selected for publication. Starting September 2023, works selected for publication will be published in bimonthly issues of the magazine.
We ask that you please follow the instructions below:
Cover Letter: We require a brief cover letter detailing your name, age, and general location. Please also include a short third-person biography to be used if we publish your work.
Word Count: The Alcott Youth Magazine prefers works that are under 5,000 words. However, we are willing to consider writing of all lengths.
Other Requirements: We do not accept work that has seen publication or has been contracted for publication. Simultaneous submissions are accepted.
If submitting written work(s), please email them in the form of a PDF.
If submitting artwork or photography, please include the name of each piece (if applicable) in the email.
All works published on this site are the responsibility of the submitter. Anyone who submits plagiarized work hereby acknowledges and agrees they bear sole responsibility for any and all claims and damages, and shall fully indemnify and hold harmless The Alcott Youth Magazine and its administrators, officers, employees, and assigns.
