To My Handsome City Boy

Mr. Jeremy Wittletoo

14 East Hemmingway Road

From Ms. Victoria Lee

Under tree laden with fruit

I write you this earnest note:

A proclamation of my love.

Down the winding dirt roads

And endless hills of green,

I live in a vine-kissed cottage.

If you feel so moved by me,

Below I'll give you my address

So you may soon get to it.

Away from any grating noise,

I bask in song of lovely birds,

But I long to hear your voice.

I lay often in sweet wildflowers

And soak under morning sun,

But still yearn for your warmth.

Daily, I pick the fruit of trees

And tend to fickle berries,

But without you it feels mundane.

Ever since the day I met you,

On shore of the city lake,

No part of life has been the same.

I cannot stand the city life.

I struggle to breathe the air.

Come, live with me instead.

I’ll show you all the country ways:

Fireflies, starry skies, and fresh breeze.

You’ll come to love it, you’ll see.

So I implore you, Jeremy,

If our time inspired you the same

Drive to 203 Wildoak Lane

And come be with me.
