A Little Help
I’m all grown,
now flying free.
No parents.
soaring with the breeze,
my wings are strong.
Feathers flurried with hope,
I can do this on my own.
Fluffy clouds in a pastel blue sky.
Until-thunder breaks me,
my wings are shattered.
Falling and tumbling.
Screeching not soaring,
a wing reaches out.
Support.
I’m not alone,
grown doesn’t mean distant.
Talons planted firmly.
Grounded,
sweet scents catch the breeze.
Warm chocolate delicacies in a suburb,
Homemade cookies, cakes and pies with oozing chocolate chips.
I am comforted.
Reliance,
I am capable.
Capable of being alone,
capable of needing help.
